Hello my Kinky Friends!

Wow it's been awhile. 3 years. 3 years?? Yes indeed, it's been 3 years since I posted.

Well, I was thinking of some of the erotic poetry that I've written and posted here, on my enigmatic little blog. Specifically fuckable, and how much fun it was to write it and how much I still enjoyable reading it out loud. Go ahead and have a taste. :)

It led me down a rabbit hole on the interwebs, checking out some new kinky blogs.

One caught my eye and had some juicy male perspective.

But then I read a male dominant fantasy, involving the ideal petite female submissive, and I just yawned.

Boooorrrring.

No offense meant to the author and all male dominants out in the blogosphere. To each his or her own. I don't have much judgement on most fantasies, really.

But male-oriented D/s just no longer turns my crank at all. And I was immersed in that world for 13 years.

You can find some entries in the early years of my blog, about that era.

Now if I read about a female dominating any gender, that might get my attention a bit more, to read or see that in action.

I would find that sexy to witness at a public play event.

But I really have no more interest in dominating anyone myself any more, or in having any D/s element in my life.

That is a firm NO for me.

So what DO I like now?

An Enigmatically Lingering Taste of Vanilla...and Relationships

Well Hello Again my Kinky Friends,

Oh my it HAS been a long time since I posted here. Almost 2 years! Where did the time go?

And where have I been?

So much to answer to that.

I evolved so very much since the last time I posted in April 2012.

As my BDSM evolution continued, I experienced and experimented with many roles.

For six months, I had a relationship with a fellow Switch who was submissive to me. I was his Domme. And that was quite the learning experience. I learned so much about myself and what I want and do not want in relationships. That relationship did not last, but the friendship that came out of it did, to this day. He is a good friend.

When I ventured out again, I discovered that I had lost my interest in the D/s part of BDSM. The Dominant/submissive dynamic.

And much to my surprise I somehow morphed into a Sadomasochist for awhile.

While I had always had a taste for pain, I seemed to have had a perspective on Sadomasochists as being too extreme for me to ever be one. After-all, I had such an ingrained caring self, being an Angel and all. How could I ever just want pain and nothing else?

Oh but I did. And I quite found the experience to be so delicious!

And along THAT path, suddenly I decided to try public play for the first time in my life. I NEVER thought that would happen. I am truly a private person, this blog (and other blogs I write), notwithstanding.

But suddenly I felt so free! And I wanted a taste. So I did, I did taste oh I did.
It was good, baby. :D

That was a nice, happy time filled with light playful play, with pain pain and more pain. Just lovely. It just felt – good.

But then April 2012 rolled around, and then I stopped posting to this blog.

So what happened? What happened was that I met the most wonderful man, out in the wonderful vanilla world.

After a 27 hour first date, he simply and quietly captured my heart.
And we have been together ever since.
And so I have changed.

My perspective on writing this blog has also changed.
I feel such a deep peace within myself, within my soul now.

I will remain an erotic soul in the way all souls have the potential to be erotic souls, when fully embacing their sexuality and at peace with themselves.

That was always a part of me, whether I was kinky or not.

I will continue to add posts in this blog, but the direction of the blog will subtly change.

You shall have to tune in to see just how this blog will change for yourselves.

My Enigmatic Love Affair with The Phantom of The Opera: From Broadway to Fantasia

Welcome to my 3D review of The Phantom of The Opera!

It’s 3D not because you have to wear funny glasses to read it (but go ahead and put them on if you wish. I promise not to laugh. Too much. )

It’s 3D because I will be taking into 3 different dimensions:
• The Phantom of The Opera, the film, show, and work of art
• The BDSM undertones of the story (and there are many)
• My own personal connection to The Phantom,
which has spanned over a decade.

Time:
Modern Day, a few days back, Montreal.

The scene was the magnificent setting of Place des Arts. In a special partnership between The Fantasia International Film Festival & the Cinémathèque québecoise, a special pristine print of Rupert Julian’s The Phantom of the Opera (1925/29), was shown & accompanied by a 30 person orchestra directed by Gabriel Thibaudeau. Gabriel Thibaudeau, composer, conductor, and pianist for the Cinémathèque québécoise, created a glorious, thunderously compelling musical accompaniment to this beautiful classic silent film.

I had won two tickets to see this special version of The Phantom of The Opera and I was accompanied by my friend, the lovely LustyLuscious. I was very happy to have such good company for this Fantasia event and happy to have a fellow kinkster share my Phantom experience, for the first time. Particularly since my own journey with The Phantom over the years has been a solitary one. More about that later.

The fantastic music Thibaudeau created turned this cinematic event into an unforgettable night. The crowd jumped to their feet in unending applause for his wonderful achievement, and I was among the packed crowd of thrilled Fantasia movie goers. He captured the signature organ accent for the movie, along with a host of perfectly suited musical accents to accentuate the silent film’s dramatic moments.

As for the film itself, the highlight of the film was the creative genius of Lon Chaney’s acting. Yes, he did not disappoint with one of his very original & creative monstrous physical disguises as The Phantom, but his acting also featured such a heart-breaking humanity from a monster who loved and craved love so very much.

Mary Philbin, played a wonderfully over the top portrayal of The Phantom’s muse, Christine Daae. To my eyes, she physically resembled Celine Dion a little, and I could picture her thumping her chest in true Celine fashion as well. lol

Like most classic silent films, the film had many comic highlights. Such as the lurking, looming fez-wearing Inspector Ledoux, of the Paris Secret Police. Aren’t the Secret Police supposed to be, well secret and hide in the shadows? If you want to blend into the shadows, maybe you shouldn’t wear a fez so that you stick out from the crowd.

And a particularly hilarious moment was when Ledoux led Christine’s lover, the Vicomte de Chagny into the secret tunnels of the opera house, to save Christine from the Phantom’s grasp. Ledoux told Chagny they must hold a hand above their heads to ward against the Phantom’s noose, as he was wont to strangle those who opposed him. So the two of them crept along with a hand above their heads, which looked so much like the classic Bollywood “screwing in the lighbulb” move. Rather appropriate since The Phantom’s rope strangling was declared to be Indian. “Beware The Punjab Lasso!” we were told. I got a furious attack of the giggles suddenly, when I picture the silent film turning into a Bollywood spectacle all of a sudden. Too funny.

Altogether, this cinematic Phantom event was a triumphant success, for the whole Fantasia crowd, and for me, on a personal level.

For me, this was the second time I saw The Phantom immortalized on the big screen.

Fact is, I am quite a Phantom fan, and I have followed The Phantom of The Opera for a long, long time.

Time:
Flash-back to the end of 1997, Montreal.

After years of BDSM fantasizing, in 1997 I finally found someone to play with in real-time and real life. My Master. My very own Phantom.

One day, I was told to find and study the soundtrack to Webber’s Phantom of The Opera. Just the music. I was told to pay particular attention to the words of the songs, and the message of the music itself, and in particular told to study The Music of the Night. This soundtrack to the Broadway version was then used in my training and my lessons, as a submissive. I became my Master’s muse and his discovery. He discovered that I had a talent, not for singing like, Christine Daae, but for writing. My Master was the one who first encouraged me to write in the BDSM vein. For him, I composed stories and poetry. And I kept a journal for my journey with him, for his amusement and entertainment. My very first BDSM blog!

When I went to choose a soundtrack to Webber’s Phantom of The Opera to use, I did some research before I chose a version. I picked the version that was most acclaimed by critics, and what was the best one to my ear. It featured Michael Crawford and a very young Sarah Brightman. To my ear, Michael Crawford’s rendition of The Phantom was the most talented. His voice, when speaking or singing as The Phantom, was a gloriously full-bodied elegant and seductive one. I loved listening to him.

And as for Sarah Brightman, well…I felt a connection to her in so many ways. First of all, she was Andrew Lloyd Webber’s muse and discovery. He created The Phantom as a vehicle to feature her vocal talent. She was a young ingénue, who played a young ingénue. You can see so many parallels in the relationship between Andrew Lloyd Webber & Sarah Brightman, and The Phantom with Christine Daae.

And my own relationship with my Master mirrored that Creator/muse relationship pattern as well.

Time:
Flash-forward to some time after, the venue is New York and Broadway.

One day, I found myself in a weekend away in New York, with friends. Webber’s Phantom of The Opera was at the end of its run and I was bound & determined to see this story live, that had meant so much to me on my BDSM journey.

One of my friends & I had the incredible luck to nab 2 most excellent and reasonably priced tickets to this immortal Broadway classic. The only problem was that the seats were miles apart, with the whole theatre between us. But we agreed and went to the show.

In a sea of strangers in New York, I was bowled over by the gorgeous storm of The Phantom brought to life on the Broadway stage. And as I watched, I was bowled over by an unexpected storm of emotions that the show brought out of me. I sat there with tears tracking down my face as I thought of my own Phantom and wished with all my heart I could share this moment with him. I was incredibly happy and sad at the same time. It was an unforgettable moment in my life and BDSM journey.

Time:
Flash-forward to 2004, Montreal.

Time for me to finally see The Phantom on the big screen. I eagerly attended a showing of The Phantom of The Opera featuring the talents of Gerard Butler. The critics were not kind. They blasted Butler for his less than stellar singing talent. But I thought that was highly unfair. Of course one knew he was no Michael Crawford. But he did a very good job of acting as The Phantom, illustrating the Phantom’s heartbreak quite well. And well the added bonus was that Gerard Butler is a gorgeous man. So he played quite a Sexy Beast, I thought. I was content with my Phantom film fix.

The Phantom & The BDSM

Phantom of The Opera is indeed a twist on the classic Beauty and The Beast scenario. Alas, the beauty does not choose beast in the end, but chooses her other lover. Of course I always wished the beauty would choose the poor, yearning beast.

You can see so many BDSM elements in the story line. We have the Master and the one who serves his will. The Phantom is the Master of his domain, the Paris Opera House. Those who oppose him are swiftly punished. We even have dungeons at the bottom of the Opera House, and a torture room, in the room of mirrors that we see in the Lon Chaney silent film version. I couldn’t help but notice all the rope lying around in this movie version as well. And there are lots & lots of role-playing in the story, since the story features actors and acting of roles.

For myself, there is even an Angel in the story. The Angel of Music. See Andrew Lloyd Webber’s version. And my Master is the first one to call me Angel. You can read about the roots of my name here.

As for my Master being my Phantom. Ah well. You will find very true traces of my Master in this blog. So he is a Phantom here as well, of sorts.

And all that is about why I love and will always love The Phantom of The Opera.

An Enigmatic Poetry Reading: The Enigmatic Angel LIVE @ The Alternative Lifestyles Community Centre (ALCCVA)

Well this is certainly a blog about kinky firsts.

I will be reading a selection of my kinky poetry, in English & French, at a public event in town.

This I have never done before. I have shared my vanilla poetry before, at some past events, but never my alternative stuff.

I have also never been to Montreal’s Alternative Lifestyles Community Centre (ALCCVA). What is Montreal’s Alternative Lifestyles Community Centre (ALCCVA) all about, you may ask?

Well, I think the Centre is about some dark & delightful dreams finally coming true in Montreal.

The ALCCVA is all about a host of alternative lifestyle people finding a home & resource, where they all feel welcome. Maybe you are a swinger, or are polyamorous. Gay Leathermen. Furries. Cross dressers. Queer BDSM. Whatever your taste, sexual orientation or kink – you now have a place to turn to.

Montreal's Alternative Lifestyles Community Centre Brings Kink On Campus For World AIDS Week

It was the perfect audience for a frank discussion: young, open-minded, sexually aware & interested in practicing & promoting safe sex.

The discussion? The McGill University Global AIDS Coalition's panel on “Positive Pleasures: the Stigma of Sex Work and HIV/AIDS.”

This year from November 15 to 18, McGill Global AIDS Coalition will be collaborating with other initiatives like CANFAR and Médecins Sans Frontières to conduct World AIDS Week on the McGill University campus. World AIDS Week is a series of events designed to educate the community about issues relating to HIV, global health, and human rights as well as raise money for the Stephen Lewis Foundation.

Add our kinky community’s very own Contessa Alura & her ground-breaking Alternative Lifestyles Community Centre (ALCCVA) and there you have it – a winning mix to get the message out about alternative lifestyles.

Other panel speakers were McGill University’s Dr. Pierre-Paul Tellier, and Dr. Diane Meaghan, an author of books on the international sex trade.

Dr. Tellier, McGill University's Director of Student Health Services, spoke about the questioning gay and lesbian youth he sees in his practice that are all too often forced to turn to what he called “survival sex”, sex that such youth are forced to turn to survive when they end up on the street. He advocated for very early on sex education in our schools, where children would be taught to see the body as a positive thing, something to be proud of.

Dr. Diane Meaghan spoke of a host of very grim statistics around the world of sex trade workers, who in her words are “criminalized and stigmatized” and who are seriously at risk for HIV infections.

Center stage in both placement and also with the young crowd’s attention, Contessa Alura stood up to talk straight talk (so to speak hehe) about BDSM, what it means, about her experiences as a Pro Domme, and also about her ground-breaking ALCCVA organization, which she hopes will be a resource for a vast range of people from alternative lifestyles, from swingers to kinksters and more.

Here is a little blurb about the ALCCVA:

“The ALCCVA is a free and open space where like minded individuals can meet, share, learn, build and create meaningful relationships, discover, and seek information without fear, judgment, or discrimination.”

All this and more made for a very stimulation discussion and certainly raised a few questions in my mind.

Yes, your kinky intrepid & enquiring reporter (known as yours truly) noticed a few blank spaces that needed some filling.

So I mentioned the “b” word. You’re thinking beyaatch, right? lol
In this case the “b” word was bisexual.

As someone who identifies as being bisexual, I was struck by how this important segment in the sex trade and youth was simply not mentioned at all in this public discussion.

Ah there definitely was a reason for this, I soon found out.

Dr. Tellier admitted that bisexual youth were often left out and felt discriminated by both the gay/lesbian and straight communities and were marginalized.

Dr. Meaghan claimed that not many of the sex trade population identify as truly being bisexual. I really question this personally, as I know so many people in our local kinky community, and pro dommes included, DO identify as bisexual. When I chatted with the lovely Contessa Alura after the discussion was over, she told me she was glad that I brought up the bisexual question, during the Q & A part of the evening. She definitely had her own opinions on that.

I was happy to learn that the ALCCVA has a new & freshly growing group for bisexuals. Definitely something I’ll be checking out. We need more voices for our bisexual community in Montreal, that’s for sure.

Something else I brought up during the Q & A session was the tracking & statistics concerning Pro Dommes and the prevalence of HIV infections within that community.

The Contessa advised the crowd that sadly there is a great lack of tracking with this important question. In a perfect world, yes it would be great to have Pro Dommes studied seriously, with their need for protection and proper BDSM safe practices being promoted and encouraged.

As Contessa Alura said, Pro Dommes are starting younger and younger. As I looked at the young crowd around me, I thought about all the youngsters out there paying their way through university with Pro Domme sessions. This was the perfect young crowd to speak to, to reach that segment, I thought.

Contessa Alura mentioned something that I truly hope comes to pass one day. Just as the LGBTQ community is becoming more & more part of the mainstream and not as alternative as it once was, perhaps one day BDSM will also become part of the main and viewed as healthy and “normal”.

That would make for a Brave New World, indeed.

A FetLife Munch: An Enigmatically Slapping Good Time

Ah it was good to be back, back in the public kinky waters of Montreal.
Attending the FetLife Munch felt like kind of going home again.

I was happy to see a few of my favorite usual suspects. Like my good friend and some time *evyl* co-conspirator Mystress Lady Evyl, and one of my very favorite couples in our local scene MsV (our gracious hostess) and Master Andre, her fellow whipmaking partner.

Oh and what fun it was to slap hello my fellow Switch drakor, who I hadn't seen in awhile. I do believe that small slap put a little twinkle in his eye. And what are friends for? :)

It was also fun to meet some intriguing new people, including a warm & entertaining couple of out-of-towners.

And you never know where the conversation can lead during a Munch. Topics ran from the Intellikilt ( you just had to see it to believe it) and the legendary practical jokes between John Baku (boy wonder founder of Fetlife) and MasterZChicago.

I picked a great event for my return to the public scene - laid-back, fun & funny conversation with fellow BDSMers and kinksters, over some tasty seafood and steak. I actually liked the fact that it was a smaller crowd as well, was easier to talk to people.

My plan had originally been to go on to one of the other many happenings in town. Three other tempting events in the dark side were also going on during the night. I was really interested in finally attending one of KinkMontreal's little happy hours, which was scheduled a bit later on in the night. But seeing as I had a vanilla date planned for the morning, I decided to call it a night, as my fellow Munchers went each to continue their wicked evening with more dark fun in the night.

It felt good to be out again and happy I was to be in the kink-friendly Gay Village.

Being back in the Village made me remember how much I love roaming around that neighborhood. I love seeing all the wonderfully exotic range of gender-bending human creatures who stroll through the Village on a hot summer night.

Little snapshots caught my attention as I headed off home.

There a couple of gorgeous young boys casually walking together hand in hand.

Oh and a bashful pretty girl in a summery cotton white dress, eyes meekly looking down. Her black leather collar and silvery leash attached making a lovely contrast. Ah how tempting it was to just reach out and take that leash....somewhere.

And I headed on home still smiling my Mona Lisa smile filled with secret thoughts and thinking how very interesting my life is these days.

It's so true how life brings such wonderful things when you have no expectations.

An Enigmatic Angel's Return To The Public Kinky Life

Today, I was trying to remember when was the last fetish or BDSM public (or even semi-public) event that I've attended. And you know what - I was stumped.

I think it may have been last year's Kinky Festival, which was a watershed for me in many ways. Lots of good and bad and light bulb moments there.

I was fortunate to attend 2 Kinky Girls' Night Outs in the past 6 months, which were just wonderful kinky-girl-bonding moments and so much fun.

But in terms of fully public events, it has been ages.

But tomorrow night, Friday August 21, will be my reentry into all things kinky, on the public stage. I will be attending the FetLife Montreal Munch, hosted by the ever gracious Ms V, who I am happy to call my friend.

Under 40 ~ The New Kinky Bar

It was a blog post on KinkySexLink, the group blog that I contribute to, that triggered my thoughts on the age factor, in the local BDSM scene & BDSM/Fetish audiences in general.

There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the fetish events in town (that´s the fetish ones - not the BDSM ones) have a majority of young kinksters. And honestly, alot of the marketing is geared at that demographic.

I see more & more events and things being organized for the under 40 (and under 35 crowd). I even saw an interesting kinky vampire movie casting call out recently - and all the female characters were young.

Is that what people want to see? Do these young kinksters who keep getting younger, all want to run away from the older pervs?

I´ve heard that even expressed from friends as well, that emphasis on looking for someone/something young & hot.

I find this highly ironic in some ways. In my vanilla life, about 90% of my friends are younger than I am. I still feel like a kid myself inside. I have no problem relating to those younger friends. And they seem to get something positive out of my friendship with them.

I don´t feel old, but lots of segments in our society would classify me as old because I´m 40. What is 40 supposed to feel like? I don´t feel old. If anything, I actually felt freer & younger when I turned 40. It´s the fearless factor I think. Suddenly I didn´t give a damn about many things and just want to drink life in. It´s been great.

But I remember being in my 20s and thinking 40 was ancient. Hmm maybe I should scratch that. Looking back, I dated/saw/played with several men who were in their 40s, when I was in my 20s.

An Enigmatic Taste

A Darkly Enigmatic Blossoming of Switch-hood

It's a very weird thing that got me to thinking about the subject of this blog.

I was rereading one of the many novels in the Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series.

In one scene, a werewolf was fighting the different lycanthropic beasts trying to rise up and out. A lioness. A leopard. A wolf. And something Other.

It made me think of the twin kinky spirits within me, that are in every Switch.

The dominant and the submissive And they are like symbiotic twins. I can´t imagine just having one or the other. But sometimes I have wondered, if I was just a sadomasochist. Maybe it's not a question of tops & bottoms, dominants and subs. Maybe it´s just that sharp bite of pain that beckons, the pain from both ends...of the equation.

Well, I feel those two halves twinned & twined inside of me, each craving release in their own way. Both of them make me purr. I wonder how this twin-spiritedness came to be. And when they came to be. I thought it was a more recent phenomenon, but lately I have seen the signs were both there for a long, long time.

As I feel both sides shifting inside me, they feel like a sweetly dark blossoming, long dark tendrils reaching out, unfurling. Craving the thirst-quenching waters that feed them – the dark waters of my fantasies, of my playing.

Who knows what shape this dark flower will take?

For now, I savor the dark embrace of the blossoming itself.

The Enigmatic Angel's Kinky Cinematic Journey

The Good, The Bad - and The Cheesy

Do you remember what was the first kinky film you ever watched out on the big screen?

Recently, I tripped down memory lane when a series of clicks led me to remember my first kinky cinema outing - Preaching To the Perverted.

Flashback 10 years ago.

I sat in the old Eaton Centre cinema in downtown Montreal (which had become repertoire-esque in those last days before it closed) and felt such a sense of experiencing the wickedly forbidden - right out in the open where anyone could see me.

The theatre was not even half-full. It was a sea of fashionable black, as if we had all agreed on what to wear before we left the house. I felt like there was a HUGE spotlight on me because my fellow movie goers were mostly men sitting alone, with the odd couple here and there. I was the only woman there by herself. There was a touch of leather of course - leather pants and jackets - and a black studded collar or two.

A man came in and sat down a few rows behind me, in the back section of the cinema. He gave me one hard stare and I suspected he didn't want anyone sitting near him - and I guessed at the reason why. During the movie, I heard some constant rocking sounds that came from his direction and you can easily guess the reason for it. I had to try not to laugh as I wondered if he got off during the movie.

As for the movie itself, well for me it was such a decadent and tasty visual treat. It was about a moral crusader who tries to infiltrate the world of an infamous and beautiful Dominatrix. In the end, he just could not resist her wicked and enticing allure. Oh sure, I did think the end seemed a little pat and tacked on - but the rest of the movie? Oh my! It was tasty and gorgeous and the clothes! Guinevere Turner, who played the Evil Temptress Tanya Cheex, was so damn HOT in her delicious outfits. I think that might have been the first time I lusted for a woman. It sure left some questions in my mind. And I was so sad when the movie came to an end. Oh and just for fun, as I got up to leave the cinema I couldn't help but look at my highly-active fellow cinema-goer as he left. He looked rather sheepish when I just gave him one long, cool look. Kind of like a deer caught in headlights.

That was my first kinky cinema outing (outing in more ways than one) and that sure released the dam. Through-out the years, I always kept my eyes peeled for other kinky flicks and went to all the ones I could find.

There was Quills, a movie about the Marquis de Sade and the time he spent in prison. Geoffrey Rush did a fine job of playing a beguiling Marquis, leading a young priest, played by the tasty Joaquin Phoenix - and others - into temptation - all while still locked up in his cell.

The most atrocious and abominable rendition of a bdsm book had to have been the disastrous big screen adaption of Anne Rice's Exit To Eden. All the bdsm content was turned into a spoof and a joke. All of sudden a totally ludicrous subplot containing thieves and undercover cops had been inserted into the story-line - all to include 2 big stars - Rosie O'Donnell and Dan Aykroyd . I suspected the director and producer did that because they didn't think the movie would be carried on its own momentum. Well, it was a total cop-out. Here was a chance to bring to life one of my favourite and sublime Anne Rice books and it was made into an unattractive and ridiculous mess. I was incensed. The male friend I brought with me (who I later dated and who had a small taste for kink it turned out) did seem turned on by the bdsm content though - so something good came out of that movie at least. The movie was a great opener for me to discuss kinky things with him.

Most recently, I watched for the nth time, one of my favourite big screen bdsm movies, Secretary, on dvd.

What can I say about Secretary? Why do I like it so much?

Well, it's not about the bdsm or fetish scene at all. It's about 2 regular human beings who explore the concepts of Domination and submission together. I think that may be one of the reasons why I enjoy it so much - it reminds me a bit about me and my own journey.

Oh and while I was musing about the kinky films I've seen on the big screen, I stumbled upon a few interesting kinky film festivals, which I've now added to my blog under the header "Tasty Film Links".

Changing Cravings For Pain: A Survey

The Effect Of Pain On The Body - Long Term

This is something that has been on my mind quite a bit these last few months, and wanted to hear some opinions on the subject.

Burning questions for your consideration:

For those of you into pain, have you noticed any changes in your pain tolerance as time goes on?
As time goes on, do you find yourself craving more pain? Or less?
What is the effect long-term of physical punishment on the body?
For those who have years of experience, has your tolerance for pain grown...or diminished?
What other factors affect one's tolerance for pain?
What other factors affect one's craving and desire for pain?

I was talking to a fellow Switch at a Kinky BBQ I attended recently on the subject of pain. Judging from the scars he showed me on his face and body, this was someone who did have a good tolerance for pain. After the play session he had there, he mentioned how good it felt to feel the pain again and how much he had missed it, since it had been quite some time since he had experienced pain on a regular basis.

I myself definitely have a taste for pain, on both sides of the equation. Lately I have been finding my tolerance seems to have diminished, to my dismay. I don't know if this is just a temporary aberration happening for some reason. It made me wonder if the body stores a sense memory in the tissues and that perhaps at some point it becomes too sensitized. Is this possible?

Yet on the other hand, I was also talking to some Dominants (at the same Kinky BBQ) about how some people develop "leather asses", who require higher and higher levels of pain to be delivered on their bodies to be able to actually feel the pain.

Lots of food for thought.
